Our Family
Just a little about us, we are Scott and Susan Riggs. We have 5 daughters who are mostly grown, so we are practically empty nesters. Our daughters are Kristin, Sara , Skylynn, Samantha and Abby. Our oldest Kristin has made us grandparents 3 times over with 3 sweet boys Jackson, Grayson & Harrison. Our 1st granddaughter Aurora was born last September to Samantha. Family means the world to us. Honorable mention: Bailey, our cuddly standard poodle and Truman the crazy Bernedoodle.

Home is Where the Heart Is
Our in home daycare is equipped for children age 1 to Kindergarten. We want to give an abundance of love while meeting the needs of each and every child in our care. Our goal is to provide a clean, fun and safe environment, while encouraging social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development. We strive to produce happy and well adjusted children.
We offer:
A smoke free environment with a large play area inside as well as a large fully fenced backyard play area
Up to date CPR and First Aid Certification
Healthy meals and snacks
A daily schedule filled with fun hands on learning activities which includes a professionally developed preschool program
Interactive computer play, but not everyday
Structured and non-structured play time because kids just want to play
Summertime water table and sprinkler fun
A curriculum that covers Math, Science, Early Literacy, Social Studies, Beginning Sign Language, Beginning Spanish and Art * Plus a daily dose of manners
A monthly newsletter for parents
A weekly music class by Tunes for Tots
Our program is designed for 8 full time children
A reliable back up in case of illness
Our home is open to parents at anytime, however the doors remain locked. We use a door lock system where each family creates a code for entry and can enter at any time during daycare hours.
Full time weekly rate for 2 to 6 years $180
Full time weekly rate for 1 to 2 years $190
Starting rate will remain the same until your child leaves care. No deposits required. No additional fees for preschool supplies, computer class or music. I supply everything but diapers/pull ups, formula and a change of clothes.
As part of licensing, the daycare area is monitored by unannounced inspections by the Jackson County Health Department, Missouri Fire Marshals, Missouri Licensing Care Specialists and USDA meal monitoring specialists. Everyone that lives in our home has a certified federal criminal background screening and has passed a child abuse background screening. License #002628937
My name is Susan, I am a mother that loves children and I enjoy sharing in their lives. I have ran daycare in our home since 1998 and it has been a pleasure to be a part of the lives of each child that we have had in our home. We are honored that parents entrust us with the care of their children and we take our job very seriously. My husband Scott and I, participate in many school sponsored and community activities and we are also active in our church. We always strive to be role models and have always expected our own children to be great role models for the children in our care. It's important to us to keep improving our business. Scott and I attend workshops and seminars on child development, creative learning, fun activities for children, nutrition, safety, how to handle difficult behaviors in children and Kindergarten readiness. I serve as a district leader on the Executive Board of the Blue Springs Child Care Association.
